Hi there!

My name is Ashley Cline and I'm a pianist, musician, and entrepreneur. I decided to open Sunrise Prelude Piano Studios because of my passion for music and teaching. I love to use my knowledge of music, with over a decade of experience, to inspire and nurture aspiring musicians. I believe anyone can learn the skill of music-making, and my goal is for students to create a love for music that lasts a lifetime!

I've picked up many instruments over the years, including piano, ukulele, recorder, guitar, voice, and even tuba! However, I specialize in teaching piano in the private and group setting, as I've had the most pedagogical training in that. I also enjoy teaching group music classes to introduce students to different instruments and all things music!

My Background & How I Started Teaching

I first picked up the piano at six years old, and music has been a part of my life ever since. Over the years, I grew through lessons, practice, and plenty of ups and downs. Sometimes I practiced consistently, and other times I struggled to stay motivated. But through it all, I found that piano was something I always came back to.

In March 2023, I felt the pull to begin teaching. What started as a simple idea quickly became something I loved and did not want to stop. Teaching has given me a whole new way to grow as a musician while inspiring others to discover the joy of music for themselves.

That is why I chose the name Sunrise Prelude Piano Studios. To me, each student is like a sunrise, beginning their musical journey and full of hidden potential that slowly reveals itself in brilliant color. The word prelude means “an introduction to something more important.” Just as every sunrise is the beginning of a beautiful new day, every piano lesson is a prelude to something greater in a student’s musical life.

I believe learning is a lifelong journey, so I continue to study and grow in my own musicianship through private lessons, music theory classes, online courses, and dedicated practice. My goal is to share the love, skill, and knowledge I have gained over the years and empower my students to shine brightly in their own unique way.

More About Me

Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my husband, Adrian, and with my friends and family!

Music is, of course, still a huge part of my life outside of teaching. I’m the pianist of the worship team at Five Rivers Church in Kettering and the young adult's pianist at Restoration Park Church in Medway. I’ve had the opportunity to play and sing with several worship teams over the years, which I've been very grateful for! I really enjoy playing in a worship setting and being part of a team that gets to use music to serve God and our community.

I also love listening to music, dancing (proud Latina), cooking, baking, learning Spanish, and, of course, practicing the piano!

Running my studio is also a huge part of my life. There’s so much time, energy, and investment that goes into running a small business that people don’t always see behind the scenes, but I truly love growing my studio and creating a meaningful experience for my students and their families.
