What Does My Tuition Pay For?

Tuition reserves your student's weekly lesson time for the academic year and supports every aspect of providing a high-quality music education. Rather than paying only for the time spent in each lesson, tuition reflects the preparation, planning, and resources that make meaningful progress possible. 

 

For every hour a student spends in lessons, additional hours are invested outside of the lesson time to:

• Plan individualized lessons and long-term curriculum

• Select and prepare music and instructional materials

• Evaluate student progress and set goals

• Organize recitals, classes, and other studio events

• Communicate with families and manage studio administration

• Maintain teaching resources and studio equipment

• Pursue ongoing professional development through workshops, conferences, and continuing education

 

Tuition also helps cover the operating costs required to run the studio, including:

• Piano tuning, maintenance, and studio upkeep

• Sheet music and teaching materials

• Recital expenses, awards, and performance resources

• Studio software, website, scheduling, invoicing, and bookkeeping

• Office supplies, printing, postage, internet, and utilities

• Professional memberships, insurance, and taxes

Annual Tuition Review

Tuition is reviewed annually, with any adjustments taking effect on August 1. Updated tuition rates will be communicated by July 1 each year.
